lyrics

I embody the essence of insanity
Do it over again
Keep the variables the same.
Damned to strive for the unachievable
Where does this cycle end?

I've broken the covenant, and the blood of the calf that stains my feet slowly turns to that of my brother’s.
I've done it once and I'll do it again
I've killed before and it's only getting easier.

God's death means nothing to me
If I crucify the captives He's set free.

A ravenous wolf nocks at the door. He huffs and puffs but he's my friend and yet again I'll let him in. He'll stain his teeth with whatever limb he takes this time. I bleed out in apathy.

This reoccurring dream somehow slips through the catcher above my bed.
If the answers to why are real then make them clear or watch me cave to this psychosis.

I think therefore I am
Another bag of blood held up by shafts of bone that will crack and age and rot in the ground.
That can't be why we're here.
And if it is, why wouldn't your next breathe be your last?

I'm driven to the edge by this demon of my own design;
This Screwtape parasite that preys until the immanence of my demise.

I think therefore I am
A chaotic collage of thought that means nothing if there's nothing.
Dust remains dust in a world with no divine.
Dust is made alive on a planet of design.
From the dust you came and to the dust you'll return
And when your soul rises from the ashes
Don't be surprised to see you've let your city burn.

The horizon flips and a rising sun falls behind the hills again.
Night falls like a traitorous angel.
The same one I'd freeze in hell with
If there were no eucatastrophe.

My mind is lost, or maybe it's just out searching for my soul.
Either way I wait in the in between.
Redemption is inevitable but it will mean the death of us all.
